I wear headbands almost every day, and you know what I do? I take the bottom of an old t-shirt and I cut it into a strip of fabric long enough to tie around my hair. And there you go- now I have dozens of headbands!

Oh, yeah...the other answers are awesome too. If you can find any kind of fabric you like, just cut it into a strip and tie it around your head! I've actually made headbands out of old pillow cases that were made from awesome fabric. If you have a sewing machine and can sew, that's even better!
