Scunci Conair No-Slip hair band rubbed off my hair! Any one else had the same problem?

I wore the Scunci no-slip head band that has a thin rubber strip all the way around. I now have a spot at the top of my head with no hair. Pam Keegan at the Conair corporation thinks I am the only one and this is not a problem. Please let me know what you think I should do and if you have the same problem.

We have not tried the headband, but my son has very long hair and I bought him the Scunci ponytail holders, which cause the same problem. It's the little exposed rubber bits that grab the hair and then when you go to pull it out, they pull the hair out with it. I only bought them because he ran out of ponytail holders and I was in a hurry, so bought these at the grocery store. However, I later bought the regular covered ponytail holders for him. Much better!
