Everytime i try to put my hair up in a pony tail why does this happen? It stresses me out CHRONICLY!

I have long wavey hair my hair is thick but everytime i try to put my hair up in a pony tail i put my head upside down so im looking at the floor putting my hair up at the same time with a brush %26amp; then when i put the hair band in it ALWAYS ends up with a bump in my hair or one side of my hair feels different to the other side this usually happeneds more often under neith my hair when its up i do it even when my hair is wet %26amp; it still does the same thing WHY? How can i put my hair up %26amp; then put the hair band in it without getting no bumps or little bits of hair sticking up or out or not looking right? Why does this happen? When i brush my hair trying to get it up it feels %26amp; looks all fine at that stage but its just when i put my hair band in it?

try using a rubber band instead, the ones they sell for your hair, its much tighter

When you have thick and naturally wavy hair you can get away with a few bumps here and there, it will just look natural and wavy, like you have meant it to be that way.

Take a load off.

dont put your head upside down.

when you comb your hair like that it wil give more volume to you hair.

i heard people who have less hair use this technique to give volume to their hair.

so just do your pony tail like normal.

Try doing a messy bun or a retro loose pony tail, this way it wont even matter if you have bumps.. it will look better if you do hah.

Just play around with it!

i have also a long hair, but i dont have a problem to put hairbands or something in my hair.but my problem is when 2 days i dont wash my hair ...my hair is so oily and i become dandropp..so you must put in the midle your hair the band.. or.you make one pony in the midle of your hair..

okay, first, don't flip your head over to put it up. Second, use a bristle brush, vinyl bristles are okay, not the wide metal kind. Third, make sure the hair band you are using is thick enough, and strong enough that isn't slipping.

Put the band you intend to use on the wrist of the hand you'll use to gather your hair. Gather your hair a little lower on the back of your head than you want the tail, hold it in your hand palm up, and brush it, from under to up and front to back. Lifting your pony slightly higher every time until it is where you want it. Once you have it gathered where you want it, and it seems smooth enough for you, band it. The band should pull from the side where your wrist is. this seems complicated but it really isn't, just practice. My hair is really long and wavy too, and I used to have that problem. Sometimes bumps are unavoidable, then you try again.:)

Go ahead and try it......I'll wait . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

did it work? The hump underneath could be caused by the weight of your hair, there is not much you can do about that, make sure the back is smooth and the band tight!

Good luck!
