What glam/hair band from the 80s could you not stand then, but like now?

I must say I couldn't stand Poison back then, but I can listen to them now.

others...

White Lion

Slaughter (Fly to the Angels kicks ***)

Cinderella (Nobody's Fool is awesome)

Giuffria (just kidding)

Dokken kinda grew on Me.

I have listened to every Hair Band on the planet because I was in My Teens and 20's in the 80's. I discovered one of My Fave bands ever (Whitesnake) because they became popular during that era. Hoestly I owe my current fascination with the entire Black Sabbath/Deep Purple Family Tree of Bands to dicovering Whitesnake in the late 80's. My love for all of it grew out of "Here I Go Again"

Boy did I go off on a tangent...You just inspired a Question..Thanks

Pantera, seriously back when they started (Metal Magic era) is completely different from their last album, and they even looked different.

Motley Crue

Ratt

Winger-I could not stand that Heading for a Heartbreak song but now it's pretty catchy

I wasn't L.A. Guns' biggest fan, but I have a soft spot for 'The Ballad of Jayne'......they only played it briefly on radio in my area back then, but now it's my fave by them ;)

Unfortunately I was a bit too young to really rock out to the 80's hair bands (I was born in '86) but I kick my parents in the *** pretty much everyday for not having me sooner.

The hairband era is by far my favorite and I just had to comment on this question because seeing 80's hair band themed questions makes me smile lol.

With that said, I've always been a big fan of Poison until Bret Michaels started that rediculous TV show and now because of that, I've lost a lot of respect for the guy. I still like the music but can't look at it the same. Thank you for your helpVH1, in transforming Brett Michaels from a rocker into an attention diva...ugghhh...

I pretty much loved them all in the 80's. Cinderella I guess wasn't a fav but I still don't really like them. Twisted sister, and Ratt rocked!

quiet riot... but their only 2 hits are not bad to me now, judist priest (sp)... Cinderella... warrant, and a few more, but it isn't like i go out of my way to listen to them, but my brothers do, so i hear them sometimes..

I guess it is a little different for me, I grew up exactly in that time, I was the guy in HS wearing the Iron Maiden t-shirts, smokin' out @ lunch etc. Loved the heavy stuff as well as all the hair bands, BUT now, I seem to find myself enjoying all the top 40 stuff that all those preppy kids listened to.

So now if I am listening to the radio and Pink houses comes on I am singin' along (hated it when it was new)

I used to hate them all... I was born in '84, so I have a slight recollection of what it was like I was a 90's kid. My sisters like that stuff, so I was exposed to it a little later than most. I thought they were ridiculous with their giant hair, sparkles, spandex, make-up. I thought the music was horrible too, but like I said, I grew up on the grunge/alternative stuff.... so... now that I am older (and wiser)... I love it! Poison, motely crue, slaughter, ratt, cinderella, twited sister, winger.... love 'em all! And power ballads... oh, power ballads.... I love them. I drive around with them blasted and all my windows down singing at the top of my lungs. I have collected a lot of DVD's of concerts from that era.... and wow, live performances suck today... nothing like they were in the 80's. Wish I had been born about 7 or 8 years earlier!

I liked most of them. The ones I hated, like Warrant, I still hate. The one band I appreciate more now than I did then is Twisted Sister.
