Question on frenchbraiding??

i have meduim length hair...(chest length) and i really want to learn how to braid a braid around the top of my head...like in those medival movies...(like lord of the rings) not across the front but over the top like a headband...everyone uses fake hair pieces..i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do it without the fake band of hair...any answer would help...thank you :)

pull up half of your hair and tie what is left down into a pony tail to keep it out of the way. if you're doing it by yourself - tilt your head to one side and begin french braiding over the top of your head. cross the hairs under each other (instead of over) to make the braid stand out when you get to the other side of your head you can either (depending on how long your hair is) make another pass back or secure it with bobby pins and let it hang down. release the pony tail and there you go. good luck. it will take practice to get it right.
